Israeli Cellist Shira Mani performs as a chamber musician in Israel, Europe, and Asia. Shira is a member of the Israel contemporary players, and the initiator and artistic director of “Bikurim Kamerim”, a chamber music series in Kefar Blum. She played with many ensembles, such as Meitar Ensemble and the Tel Aviv Soloists, was a founding member of the Israel Haydn Quartet, and the principal Cellist of the Netanya Kibbutz Orchestra. In November 2010 she independently produced as well as played in a benefit concert on behalf of the Israel Cancer Association, raising over 100,000 Nis for research. Shira was a member of the New World Symphony, Miami. She participated in prestigious music festivals such as UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra, Schleswig Holstein Music Festival and Sarasota Music festival. Shira earned scholarships from the America Israel Cultural Foundation and the Ronen foundation. She graduated with distinction from the Buchman Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv, in Hillel Zori's class, and earned a Masters degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where she studied with Laurence Lesser.
